"Go therefore and make disciples" Matthew 28:19
"Have you not read that He who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one?' So they are no longer two but one. What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder" (Matthew 19:4-6).
"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601).
Couples who want to request the celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony should contact the Pastor (608-799-7816 or [email protected]) at the time of formal engagement or at least six months prior to the anticipated date of the wedding. Couples are required to participate in a two-fold preparation experience: the diocesan-based “Marriage is For Life” program and our parish-based program. Also, when one of the parties is not a Catholic or is a non-practicing Catholic, the couple must arrange for a course of instruction in the Catholic faith. Ordinarily weddings are not celebrated during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
